For our lovely customers who always ask: What's the difference between acrylic colors and poster colors? 🤔 Let’s find out! 🥰
🎨 Acrylic Colors
Texture: Thick and creamy (like butter), and available in different consistencies: light – medium – heavy.
Coverage: Excellent. It covers previous layers easily.
Drying: Dries quickly and becomes water-resistant after drying.
Best surfaces: Works great on canvas, wood, thick paper, and fabric.
Usage:
Can be used in two ways:
– Diluted with water to act like watercolor
– Or used thick for texture and bold details.
🖌️ Poster / Gouache Colors
Texture: Lighter than acrylic, but heavier than watercolor. Usually matte and easy to spread.
Coverage: High, but generally less than acrylic.
Can get chalky or powdery if over-diluted with water.
Drying: Not water-resistant after drying — it can smudge or dissolve if sprayed with water.
Best surfaces: Mainly designed for use on paper.
Common use: Popular in school art projects and simple design work.
